What is the CETP?

The CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) lasts eight weeks and covers all the bases of the propane business. We’ll take you from the basics of working with propane to specialties like delivery, plant operations and propane system installations. The CETP sticks with propane-focused skills and includes lots of hands-on work without any unneeded classes, like history or English. With the knowledge and the skills you gain from this training, combined with the experience you may bring to the table through military service or other work, you’ll graduate ready to join the growing propane industry.

The CETP begins every three months. Here’s some of what’s included in your training:

  • the scientific basics of propane and fuel gasesthe business of propane, including how it is purchased and transported
  • safely delivering propane, covering areas such as bulk-propane plants and cylinder-delivery driving
  • bulk-plant skills, with special attention paid to safety and efficiency
  • how to properly design and install propane systems for homes and businesses
  • how to safely get propane systems and appliances up and running
